How to use the Economic Calendar
Filter by impact level
Focus on high-impact events (red) for the biggest price moves — central bank rate decisions, Non-Farm Payrolls (NFP), CPI inflation data, and GDP releases. Medium-impact events (orange) can cause moderate volatility.
Filter by currency
Select only the currencies in your open positions: USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, AUD, CAD, CHF, NZD, or CNY. This cuts the noise and shows only the events that directly affect your trades.
Forecast vs Actual
The calendar shows the market consensus forecast alongside the previous reading. When the actual release beats or misses the forecast significantly, expect sharp price reactions — often within seconds of the release.
Plan your entries around news
Avoid entering new positions 15–30 minutes before a high-impact release. After the data drops and spreads normalize, use the position size calculator to size your trade relative to your account risk before the next move.
